about

A poignant and evocative acoustic folk song, written in memory of those no longer with us. Released on 21st August, to mark 100 years since the passing of the first British soldier in WW1, John Parr.

Featuring Dan Booth, of Ferocious Dog, on fiddle, it has been such an honour to work with Dan, and to write a song to remember those no longer with us today.

All profits raised will go to charity, the majority going to the Lee Bonsall Memorial Fund, then the remainder being shared with the Royal British Legion, and Warsop's "Real Poppy" Campaign to allow them to keep decorating Warsop with beautiful poppies!

Our fallen soldiers will be in our hearts forever, gone, but never forgotten.

lyrics

No more tears, my heart is dry
All I'm doing is asking why
Why you?

And it was too soon for you to go
Why was it your time no one know's
Who knows?

And I know you're looking down on me,
And I hope you're proud of what you see
And I know you'll never be truely gone
Your memory still lives on

So I'll plant these seeds, so we'll never be alone
Come lie with me, and we'll watch the poppies grow.

The smile's slowly returning to my face
Now I know you're in a better place
You're safe

And I think of all the stories you told
The Memories I'll always hold
With Me

And I know you're looking down on me,
And I hope you're proud of what you see
And I know you'll never be truely gone
Your memory still lives on

So I'll plant these seeds, so we'll never be alone
Come lie with me, and we'll watch the poppies grow.

So I'll plant these seeds, so we'll never be alone
Come lie with me, and we'll watch the poppies grow

Come lie with me, and we'll watch the poppies grow.
